Welcome to our new LADY CRVSH CREW blog! We are super excited to open up this space to give our Leaders and Ambassadors an outlet to share their creativity, writing, and thoughts around climbing and life.

My name is Sabrina aka @notsabrina, and I am LCC's Founder and Los Angeles & Southern California Leader! Our organization started from small beginnings in the San Francisco Bay Area. When I began my climbing journey in 2017, I became friends with so many climbers in the community. I had the idea of inviting all the women climbers I knew to get together to crush as a big group. I started a chat with everyone (some of the ladies didn’t know each other) and threw out the idea of creating an Instagram page so we could share our climbing journeys on social media.

Originally called "Grrrl Crush", we knew right away our name needed a lot of work. After tossing around ideas among girlfriends, and piecing together variations of women/girl/crush/climbing words and phrases, LADY CRVSH CREW was born on May 18, 2018! But why the "V" in "CRVSH" you may ask? Well, being primarily boulderers, the "V" is a nod to the "V" grading scale in outdoor bouldering.

Our Instagram page organically grew from a place to share photos and videos among friends, to including womxn climbers and allies from different cities in the world. We noticed that many women would ask if they can join our climbing sessions, and climbers would also recognize us at our local gyms. As this kept happening, we decided to have monthly meet ups where we openly invited our followers to climb with us!

Fast forward to 2020, the LADY CRVSH CREW community has grown and evolved so much. We started as a team of 5, that narrowed to down 3, and today we have a total of 25 Leaders and Ambassadors across California! We’ve expanded from the Bay Area to Southern California (with future plans of out-of-state expansion), led sponsored indoor events by several climbing brands and companies, taught mini technique clinics, held outdoor meet ups at national and state parks, and expanded our merchandise assortment to apparel, accessories, and stickers.

Thank you to all who have joined our meet ups and shared in your journeys of projecting, failing, sending, and flashing, to celebrating victories and learning from setbacks - on and off the wall.
