It is easy to complain, but I can't justify it! I feel privileged to have a job that is amenable to working from home as well as still having my clinical responsibilities that allows me to be involved and help contribute to fighting this crazy outbreak. I'm quarantined with my partner and we're not yet sick of each other (lulz), and I get to eat all the time guilt free - overall I'm happy. ๐ โฃ

I'm a general surgery resident (think early season Grey's Anatomy), but I am currently on my research years (a little break in the middle of 7 years of training) and I'm spending that time as a Biodesign Innovation Fellow at Stanford. I've always wanted to be a surgeon that also invents cool medical devices and now I'm actually doing it! Work is great, we have been dispatched on a design sprint to address healthcare needs that have arose in response to the pandemic and it is really cool to feel like you can do something to help! I also still take call and take care of patients in the hospital about once a week.โฃ

Hmmm... an extroverted ambitious nerd with a mean competitive streak and a dry sense of humor ๐. My friend once called a "Connoisseur of Life" and I felt like that was perfect. I even changed my IG bio to it! I want to do ALL THE THINGS and experience ALL THE LIFE ... and be the best at it (see told you ๐คฆโโ๏ธ).โฃ

I can't go to bed without showering. No exceptions. I've come home post-club, drunk and ready to pass out and I still shower, every time. โฃ

I actually tried climbing like 5 years ago and liked it, but didn't get super into it. Then I moved to the Bay and was looking for my "adult sport" (anyone else missed organized sports!?) and I kept passing the Belmont Planet Granite. One day I finally went and I was hooked. That was last only summer, so I'm relatively new "hardcore" climber.โฃ

Really two things: With consistency and effort you can get better at anything; and you always have a little more to give, don't give up!โฃ

I would just love to see more people of color and self-proclaimed "un-athletic" types. The climbing gym can be so intimidating to new comers, but once you get passed that the community is just so beautiful and supportive. That being said, I still get a little jittery when I check out a new gym!โฃ

Hang in there and leverage your community during these tough times and forced isolation. You are not alone... and we all miss climbing!
